Formed in November 2016, Jessica Mallard and Zuzanna Niska created LightUp Collective in response to the constant threat of sexual assault in the popular student area of Fallowfield while studying Fine Art and Art History together at Manchester School of Art.
Collaborating with other artists and institutions, the collective aims to use art as a means to raise awareness and create a network for change through interactive projects, workshops, and exhibitions within both Manchester and the wider community.
